I’ve nothing against Free Zones CEO; she’s made me more popular – Pentecost Chairman
The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has moved to defuse tensions following the recent controversy over remarks by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Dr. Mavis Awusi, stating that the incident has only amplified the church’s visibility.

Dr. Awusi’s comments triggered backlash after she responded sharply to concerns raised by the Church of Pentecost Chairman about the environmental damage caused by illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.

In the wake of the controversy, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah publicly apologised on behalf of Dr. Awusi during his birthday thanksgiving service at PIWC Trasacco on Sunday, April 26. He described the remarks as a “slip” and appealed for forgiveness to restore calm.

Responding to the issue, Apostle Nyamekye made it clear he harbours no resentment and sees no reason to prolong the matter.
