WNR: 3 persons dead after jealous man set home of girlfriend ablaze, suspect arrested
The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly setting fire to the house of his girlfriend, leading to the tragic death of three people at Subrinkwanta in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.

The suspect, Kwaku Numatekpor, popularly known as ā€œOn God,ā€ allegedly set fire to the home of his girlfriend following a strain in their relationship.

The incident left 19-year-old Benedicta Cudjo, a student, her 60-year-old mother, Mary Oppong, and her 22-year-old sister, Dora Cudjo, with severe burns.

According to the police, Benedicta Cudjo was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Her mother, Mary Oppong, also died at the Anhwiaso Community Hospital.

Dora Cudjo, who was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment, was also confirmed dead.

Briefing the media, the Western North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Kwame Tsidi, assured the public that the police are committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their family.

He also advised parents and guardians to be mindful in raising their children and urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully rather than resorting to violence.

Police say the suspect remains in custody and has been arraigned as investigations into the incident continue.
