In an effort to show off strength and readiness, personnel of the Upper West Regional Police Command took to some principal streets in the Regional Capital, Wa, on Friday, January 30, 2026.
They marched through the streets in a bid to assure residents of their preparedness for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
DCOP Francis Yiribaare, the Upper West Regional Police Commander, led the route march which saw personnel from the Regional Headquarters Formation striding through major streets, showcasing their fitness and visibility.
The exercise culminated at the Wa Jubilee Park, where the Regional Commander briefed officers on security preparations.
“We’ve finalised deployment plans to reinforce police presence across all Municipal and District Commands in the region,” DCOP Yiribaare assured. “We’ll ensure a peaceful, free, and fair election.”
The Command sounded a clear message to stakeholders.
“Cooperate with us to safeguard Ghana’s democracy”, he urged.
Clearly, the stage is set for a peaceful election in the Upper West Region.
