Tamale: Excitement builds at Northern Business Fair 2025 as exhibitors offer massive discounts

The much-anticipated Northern Business Fair 2025 has officially opened at the Tamale Sports Stadium, transforming the city into a buzzing marketplace of innovation, enterprise, and culture.

The two-day fair, organised by Channel One TV and Citi FM, has drawn hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors eager to explore a wide variety of Made-in-Ghana products — all offered at heavily discounted prices.

Head of Events and Partnerships at Channel One TV/Citi FM, Frema Adunyame, expressed excitement about the vibrant atmosphere as the fair kicked off.

“So far, we have the exhibitors coming in; interesting stuff on display. We are super excited about what is happening now.

The gates have not opened yet, but you can tell that the excitement levels are high,” she said.

She encouraged shoppers to visit the fair and take advantage of the discounts, saying, “The things are beautiful and I’ve been going round asking people how much they are selling their stuff for, and you know they’re selling at discounted prices.

“So it is the right place to come today, to come get everything you need; from food, processed food stuff, to fashion, clothing, medical stuff, and all that… and the beautiful thing is they’re being sold at discounted prices.”

From handwoven smocks, traditional crafts, and processed foods to modern packaging technologies and health innovations, the fair is showcasing Northern Ghana’s finest products and services.

Exhibitors say the platform provides an unmatched opportunity to connect with new customers and expand their reach.

Lydia Konlan, CEO of Rising SheFarms, said her company is using the event to grow its mushroom business. “The expectation is for us to leverage this platform to reach more consumers — people who didn’t know about mushrooms should be able to find us here.

This can also translate into more sales,” she said.

Dr. Daniel Gyamfi, Executive Director of Savanna Opticals and Eyewear, added, “I expect people to come and find what they’ve been looking for all these years without realising it was right here in Tamale.”

Regional Manager of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Bukari Mohammed, described the fair as a “rare opportunity” for small businesses to gain exposure and new markets, adding that GEA’s collaboration with Channel One TV and Citi FM supports the agency’s goal of empowering entrepreneurs in the North.

Running from October 25 to 26, the Northern Business Fair 2025 is powered by Channel One TV and Citi FM, and sponsored by Ecobank, Syde Hassle, the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), with support from Kacstone Records.

The event is expected to end on a high note as visitors continue to troop in to enjoy unbeatable prices and discover the best of Northern Ghana’s creativity and enterprise.
